South Sudan Fiber Project with MICT & PS - Technical Feasibility Study: Site/Route Details Survey

Challenge

The project faced multiple challenges including difficult terrain and remote locations hindering site surveys and construction, complex land tenure systems and lengthy approval processes, protected areas and water bodies complicating routing, potential conflict zones affecting project safety, and lack of existing infrastructure (power, roads) in remote areas.

Solution

We implemented comprehensive planning with pre-surveys using team field visits and GIS tools to identify optimal routes. Our approach included early stakeholder collaboration with local authorities and communities to facilitate land access, thorough environmental impact assessments to mitigate concerns, coordination with security agencies to ensure safety during construction, and a phased implementation approach starting with areas with existing infrastructure to build momentum.

GIZ – Public Financial Management Training & Capacity Building

Challenge

GIZ required a complete Public Financial Management (PFM) training system for Local Governments, including research, manuals, validation, and Training of Trainers.

Solution

Prepared inception report, conducted desk review and interviews; drafted PFM Training Manual, Facilitator’s Guide, and Participant Handbook; delivered stakeholder validation workshop; conducted up to 14 days of Training of Trainers.
